Rising country music star Brooke Lee talks CMA Fest, new music

NASHVILLE -- CMA Fest is a place to watch some of the most iconic country music stars and discover some new ones to add to your playlist.

On The Red Carpet chatted with up-and-coming artist Brooke Lee, who was booked and busy with five shows during the four-day Fest.

"This year has been crazy busy, a lot busier than I've experienced in the past," said Lee. "It's amazing. It's also really neat because everybody's here from everywhere. So you're being exposed to so many new people and being on stage is my favorite thing in the world. So just getting lost in it, having a good time, it has been great."

If you've seen a Chevrolet commercial recently, Lee's voice actually may sound familiar to you. That's her singing the "See the USA In Your Chevrolet" jingle.

"It was so special to be a part of something I feel like I can represent really well and vice versa. I love Chevy, I love what they're all about. I'm a road tripper myself, I loved traveling. So being able to be part of a campaign that inspires other people to get out there and see America is really, really special and I'm proud to be a part of it," Lee said.

The collaboration made sense for Lee, who says road tripping actually helps inspire songs, including ones on her latest EP called "Desert Darling."

"I feel like I find most of my inspiration for my writing actually being on the road. So anytime there's a trip involved, absolutely it's up my alley," Lee explained. "it's my 19-to-25 chapter and just all the stories and life lessons in between that I feel like other people will be able to connect with and get to know me a little bit better So it's been really fun getting out there and playing a lot."

Lee's got a new single coming out next month, a song called "Driver Drive."

"It's a fun one. It's late night, get in the back seat of a car and just drive, have fun, dance. I just wanted something light and easy after this EP, so a good summer jam," she said of the song's vibe.

After five shows around this year's CMA Fest, Lee is hoping to be back again and again.

"Everyone's just so happy to be here and it's a good vibe everywhere you go, I love it."
